fish class

i'm teaching a fish class this quarter. it's pretty cool. it's obviously muy different being in an office and a lab all the time than doing field work. which is why i'm stoked this class does field trips too.

Last saturday we sampled fish from Putah Creek here on campus (pics forthcoming...)

and next Saturday we're going snorkeling among the last WILD runs of Chinook Salmon in the central California. it's supposed to be cold. we'll see about that.

hypocrite

as one who would turn her nose up at restaurants in mexico that catered to gringos i was laughing at myself when in a lowblood sugar induced coma i woke up in line at the taco bell express on campus gleefully ordering 3 crunchy tacos NOW PLEASE!!!

i blame the long hours and the sunless environment in my grad student closet office
